Feels weird...

OK I have a bit of a dilemma...I'm only allowed 2 hours of child watch at the gym every day. Knowing this, I skipped my regular Zumba class in favor of a two hour block: Pilates and our group training session. I didn't know what to expect because I've never worked with a trainer. It was only about 1/2 cardio, though. So in all, I didn't get in my cardio time today (I had planned on 45-60 minutes every day but Monday). It was a pretty intense session, but still not cardio. Calorie-wise, I think between the two classes I probably burned the same amount as I would from Zumba anyway.

I could go to another class tonight. I kind of want to and I kind of don't. I already put in 2 hours at the gym today, did laundry, did parent teacher conferences, took Miss M to dance class. I haven't planned dinner yet and I'm massively hungry.

It kind of bothers me that I should be feeling pretty proud of myself and instead I'm feeling a little bit guilty. But I guess it is only the first week. I should probably ease into it just a little bit.

  Thanks for commenting-and I feel better today. I skipped my class this morning because my son was sick, but I felt much better when I went in tonight. I got in some really good cardio. I have kind of a problem with moderation-apparently in all things! emoticon

    Give yourself a break! You did great today! You are making the right changes for success. I think your goal of 45-60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week is a bit much. Unless you are already used to this you may burn out. May need to be more realistic. I think 30 mins of cardio 3-4 times a week is recommended but I am definitely not an expert.

    If it's only the first week let your body adjust to the new routine. I know from experience that too much exertion will make for sore joints and muscles. The last thing you want when you're good and motivated is being stuck with plantar faciitis! Best of luck on your journey; being busy can be make it hard to find time but you'll squeeze it out of the day if you want this badly enough. :D
