My blog for today is about what are my reasons for losing weight. The main reasons are to feel better and live a healthy life. I have acquired hypothyroidism due to radioactive iodine treatment for Graves Disease and I have osteoarthritis. Most days I feel tired, my muscles ache and my joints hurt. After I turned 50, I developed high blood pressure. I believe that if my weight was closer to the normal range I would feel better and maybe get rid of the BP medicine. During the past 8 months, I noticed that when I exercised regularly and did daily morning stretches, there were less aches and pains. They returned in December when I stopped my Spark routine.

While writing this I realized there is one additional reason for losing weight. I do not want to be the heaviest person in my work place, in my family or any place else for that matter. I do not want to be the fat girl anymore.

    Good for you FALLNTENN !! Yep been there done that for everything but the Graves Disease. I have Hashimoto's decease and have taken me medicine for it for years. But I still have the fatigue to some degree and and the aches and pains. I control them pretty much with tylenol.

You are right about the aching being better when we exercise. I have learned how much my body loves exercise, expecially walking. I hope I can go down on the blood pressure medicine also. I just found out that I have to work harder to burn calories because my blood pressure meds keep my heart from getting up into the burn calorie range. So I have picked up my push a little to burn while on meds.

Like you I don't want to be the fat girl anymore anywhere. Yesterday I had the gym trainer at the Ymca I go to show me how to program their bicycles. I have been doing zumba for a while so my legs are stong with that and the walking, but I need something different for now. So the trainer was very helpful, but when the machine came on to 1hour. She quicly reached over me to show me how to set it down to 30 min. I stopped her and said no I want the hour. She said "Really, Are you sure" . I said yes I have alread been doing it an hour and my legs are fine. She said Oh! Well good for you.

That made my skin crawl. I hate that because I am bigger I am treated differently and now I am doing something about it. Good luck in your journey, they say second times a charm and I hope it is that for you. Hugs Susan
