30 minutes because the Treadmill didn't work :)

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

Yesterday I decided to dust off my treadmill again. I need more cardio on my life, but don't want to make my knees suffer for it. And alas, I had not used it in a year.... it didn't know me anymore and wouldn't talk to me. Not one little bit. I actually tried to jump start it by talking to it and walking on it despite the fact it wasn't running. The belt still moves, it is just much harder to get it going :) I did about 5 minutes of that, and then decided to turn on the TV, take out my little step aerobics step and just step up and down on that. I kept my knees nice and straight and got a great butt workout out of it too. I watched NCIS and before I knew it, 30 minutes had flown by. I then took out my "Pudding".... my 1/2 fitness ball, looks like an egg yolk, did some stretches and knee exercises and I can safely say that my knees feel stronger and more relaxed :)

Yay me.

emoticon finding an alternative for the treadmill that wouldn't work. Hope your knees keep getting stronger. Right now I am trying to get myself to get out of the recliner and go to the gym. You have given me a little motivation. I always do feel better after I do some exercise, but it is hard to get going.

Great job on not getting discouraged by the treadmill, and instead figuring out another way to get exercise! WOOHOO!

My treadmill did that once, and I took the cover off of the bottom (yeah, I can rock a screwdriver...), and it turned out a wire had simply unplugged. Plugged it back into the proper spot, and it's worked perfect for over a year since. Sometimes when you move them around, the various wires inside it can come loose.

My hubby will look at it tomorrow. He will have 3 days off. It was one of those cheap deals at Dick's Sporting Goods, but I would hope it would still work after a year. Granted we didn't use it as much as we had hoped, but I am sure we can fix it. :)
