My desk

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

My desk: This is a beautiful oak desk. It is HUGE, and has glass over the whole top (to protect the wood). On this desk are the aforementioned books, a table lamp, and computer monitor, a ceramic bowl with potpourri, a statue of an elk, Ms. Liberty, a bear sitting in a large cup from Cooley Law School, a dog sitting on the Circa Calendar holder, a quart Mason jar with raw almonds, a milk jar with Riesen candy, the TV remotes, and the cell phone charger that belongs in the van. Oh, and my keys. The FitBit charger is on the desk as well. And, there is a small glass salt container that currently has my rings and earrings in it. Most important, I have a lovely pencil holder that holds all my useful writing implements, a letter opener, and a pair of paper scissors. This is where I spend most of my waking hours at home.

@PatriciaaK. Yes, indeed, I still have about 5 square feet to do work, lay out the papers I am working with, and a drawer for my keyboard. Sometimes I need to clear it off a bit, so that is once a week (Friday night), and I clean the glass once a week (Monday night). It is my major work space, so it has what I need as well as what I want on it. Unlike my desk at the prosecutor's office!

Is there any room left on it to work?

Sounds like it is a useful part of the house and a catch all too. At least everything is all together.
