Who Knew 30 Could Feel So Good ;)

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

Well I recently turned 30 (gulp, I know right?!?) and I have to say it was the best birthday ever. It also happened to be graduation day from my bachelor's program which was a special perk all it's own. I was a little worried about turning 30, even though I was putting on a brave face. I had a really difficult time when I turned 25. I wasn't where I "thought" I should be in my life. The past five years from 25 to 30 have been HARD. I lost my mother-in-law (who was one of the most amazing people ever) and my grandmother who was my rock. But I also made a ton of positive changes too. My husband and I bought a house, I went back to school, started a new job, and made some incredible new friends. Through it all I've come to realize that I don't "need" to be this or that, I just need to cherish the moments and time with the people I love. I've also learned that you have to take care of yourself, which is the journey I am on now to get rid of this extra weight so I can annoy my hubby and daughter for years into the future. emoticon

That's awesome. I think in some ways I appreciate my education more now than if I had finished in my early twenties. I only have two more years of school (graduate school) and then I think I'm done. My daughter is eight and it was really awesome that she got to be at my graduation.

Congrats on graduating! I am now 40 but graduated from college when I was 30 as well. My son was not even a year old when I graduated.
