Today was Yoga XT day! Now, I've been doing yoga off and on for years...even took classes through a community college. However, my yoga training has been in the off season since about last May and, boy, could I tell a difference. I definitely was not a limber or as strong as I used to be! Most of the moves started with cobra and then went into downward dog before transitioning to something else like warrior 1 or warrior 2. Downward dog may seem like an easy move in yoga and is one that is used as a transition quite often; however, it takes a lot of strength and flexibility to do it correctly. I couldn't hold it for very long and found myself transitioning into child's pose a lot during this workout. It wasn't even halfway through the workout before I was dripping sweat with shaking muscles. Despite having to take a break every now and then, I did do pretty well with it and I'm sure my flexibility and strength will return with practice. I am actually looking forward to attempting this workout again next Tuesday when it's on the schedule again.
