'Nother day :)

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

Getting going a bit late, but that's ok. Ate my din a bit late so I'm only just starting to be hungry for brekkie. BUT I have no fresh fruit in the house, won't go shopping until tonight. Sigh. Pre-planning is good folks. Gotta get on THAT bandwagon too.

Tried a new recipe for the Superbowl, a gluten free recipe that I found on the web when I knew a gluten free eater was going to join me... EASY and tasty, happy about how it turned out and even my roomie bros ate some and enjoyed it. It will become one of my staple meals now I believe! It IS good to try new things :)

I was commenting to a friend that it is hard to believe, that even with lugging my nalgene with me all day, and making sure I fill it up and get my 8 cups/day, I am surprised when I am STILL thirsty for water even when I've hit my "fill"! Of course I don't stop myself from drinking more, I think I am just regretting not doing it sooner. If my body is still sending me thirsty signals after I attempt to sink myself like the Titanic, how much was I dehydrating myself before when I can think of some days I might get all my liquid in the form of coffee, diet soda, juice, more coffee etc? Poor body. Late is better than never methinks.

Changed my goals to get my weight off sooner. I feel like it's a good challenge. And it will force me to bring exercise into the picture sooner than I would have preferred (aka, NEVER!) so even if it's an aggressive goal... It's good to think big! One of my favorite quotes? Shoot for the moon! Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars :) Laugh... Cheesy but I like it. No matter what, all of these steps I am taking, water drinking, tracking foods, BETTER FOOD CHOICES, cutting down the stupid sodium (DARN YOU HEART HEALTH GOAL!) and EVENTUALLY exercising... All these steps are taking me in a healthier (WAY HEALTHIER) direction, and it's good to keep orienting my arrow and my direction to my end goal. Much improved health, an end weight that puts me out of the overweight category of the BMI range and helps me to feel good about me. What I do for me and how I do it. I CAN do it. Go ME!

Anyway, have a great day sparkers...

I've always been thirsty, it's just part of my system, so I tend to drink far more than 8 glasses a day. Good on you for tuning in and noticing that your body is craving water. Then following up by filling it with water. There is never too late, you realize it now and are doing it. Good luck with your goals. Sounds like you have lots of focus and energy with this. Keep it up. :)
