Try saying that 10 times - Happy 2dayzday....
I am happy that I am still losing despite my small slip ups. I know that tracking foods and weighing in (only once a week!) with a more conservative approach has helped me.
I have my buddy (my HR monitor) that keeps me on track and is sort of a motivator as I can see exactly how many calories I am burning and what my HR is. I've never posted what I have, so here it is:
It has a chest strap and is very accurate - I have to enter in my calorie burn manually as Spark over estimates my calorie burn (average).
Back to my approach.
I actually saw the MOD who said that she weighs herself every two weeks. I am thinking of trying this as it might make me happier. I will see that I am losing 'more' per weight in (when I am really not of course). Mostly, it will instill in myself that the number is a minor part of this thing.
Chris Downey has an amazing video on Spark Coach where he talks about although the scale may not budge, there are PLENTY of things to be happy and motivated about. Here they are - I hope I'm not breaking any rule by sharing this with unpaid subscribers!!
He tries to get you to think of your progress as if gravity did not exist and the scale did not exist. How do you gauge your health habits progressing?
1. Are you excited about new things?
2. Are you more energetic?
3. How is your clothing fitting?
4. Is your health better (cholesterol, etc.)
5. Are you more positive?
6. Has your overall appearance changed?
7. Are you looking forward to a workout?
8. Are your cravings for healthier foods more than not so healthy options?
None of these has anything to do with the scale or weght.
I know that I am having a hard time with #8, but working on it.
I am also learning that the past is just that - nothing that defines me. Clicking the button each day many times a day until I one day only have to do it 1 or 2 times a year or so.
Have a great day and workout!
