baby steps, baby steps

I started Paleo to help regain my health. After suffering from allergies for the 1st time in my life, and having one infection after the other (UTI, ear, sinus, etc) I knew that something was going on with my immune system. I studied a little bit about paleo and decided that it was the best thing for me to do right now.

I'm working at transitioning over to paleo little by little, but it is hard with a husband and 3 boys not on the plan. For example, it was chili last night. Of course I added the beans and thought to myself, "I'll just take them out" well that didn't happen. I ate them and my tummy suffered. So, I've decided that in order to succeed I am going to have to slowly transition my household over to the paleo plan. I think we will all be better for it.

As far as the budget for doing this goes. I think we may come out about the same if we all transition because buying food for them and food for me can bit a bit expensive. I think if I'm just buying fresh fruits, veggie, etc it won't be too bad.

Also, I have found some very satisfying substitutes for things that I love (baked goods, pancakes, etc.)

Hoping our transition goes well, but I will be taking it very slow - don't want to shock my poor boys lol

    There's a post on our Paleo team somewhere about how one mom is handling this... If I can find it, I'll somehow get it to you. (It was sort of eye-opening for me).
    Where your banner thingie says "Baby Steps Baby Steps", mine used to say, "Baby steps all in the same direction will still get you there." Great minds!

    I transitioned slowly over time also and I think that worked best for me. You become acclimated. I eliminated things one by one. For me, I started with bread (and other gluten products). Pick one thing at a time! Then maybe the kids won't realize it for a while :)
