I'm feeling it!

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

Wow - this mornings group active class really has me sore! Even though I'm feeling a little stiff - I am being very kind to my body. Getting injured right in the start of this push to get out of morbid obesity is NOT part of my plan.
So easy goes it - even if I can do all the jumping jacks and my knees don't get sky high, I am moving. That is a big enough change for today.
What I can do without the risk of injury is fuel my body well! Lots of planning, good choices at the supermarket, and giving myself enough time to feed my family well.

Hope that you are sparking along this week!

Good job! I've found my fitbit is helping...I tend to either not exercise at all, or I exercise too much. My fitbit allows me to get to a minimum number of steps while also incorporating activities. That way, I get in my minimum even on a "lazy" day, because I'm hitting 10,000 steps. I'm still working on adding in actual activities on top of just walking. I just found out about a Zumba class in town, so I may try that :). Anyway, the fitbit keeps me on track without injuring myself.

I'm in the same boat...I'm going to the gym, I do the best I can, even if I'm doing the moves where the instructor says "and if you need it less intense, you can do this..." Either way, I'm moving, which I wasn't doing 2 weeks ago.

Yup. 80% food, 20% activity. I've been in the same 3 or 4 pound range for a year because I'm adding activity very gradually. But what I DO add has to be something that I'm willing to do EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. So yeah, I'm a little picky. :)

Right now in Woubbieworld, the difference between losing and not losing seems to be about 5 minutes a day of walking. If I walk 10 minutes or less I stay the same. As soon as I hit 15 I start very gradually losing again. More and more things are becoming second nature, so in the long run I think I'll get to where I want to be.

The cool part about weight loss is that even though exercise is great, its the diet that does the trick, luckily that means that even if we are only able to do 15 minutes of exercise we can still lose weight anyway. In the beginning I could barely do 15 minutes of walking because I was injured. Now I can do an hour and a half (if I have the time.) but I don't sweat it (pardon the pun.) when I don't have the time, I can always fall back on a careful diet.
