Just checking in...nothing much to talk about accept I could talk about our beautiful weather here today. The skies are so blue and it's around 70 as I head out to walk the dogs. I know I shouldn't talk about my nice weather so much as I know many of you are chilly! So for those of you who are....keep warm!

DH and I went with a friend yesterday to see one of the assisted living places here as he is most likely moving his Mother here who is paying like close to $4000 per month in the states for care. We looked a beautiful place with individual suites with a beautiful view of the lake. We met 4 ladies who were already living there that were so happy and so sweet. So you get the beautiful suite, TV, phone, internet, 3 meals per day and a caretaker, room service, room cleaned daily all for only $1600 per month. That's a big difference. The nice thing too is that the Mexican culture is geared towards the elderly as they cherish the older people here. Even children will run up to older people and help them. It's very sweet. I have a girlfriend who lives in Seattle who's business it is to place people into homes. She shares with me how much money it is to put someone in one of the nicer homes in her area....they are around $6000 per month. So sad as we do have many beautiful facilities here for so much less and better care. I told my DH yesterday that if I outlive him that his kids could just put me in one of the facilities down here. I guess we all have to face something some day. At least I know I would be happy and not a problem to anyone down here.
