Huh...?

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

I'm a little frustrated today. I just stepped on the scale and it says I've gained 3lbs since Sunday.
I didn't do my workout yesterday because my knee was hurting. Other than that nothing has changed. I didn't eat anything bad or binge at all. I've been tracking my food and eating healthy as usual and drinking plenty of water. So I'm not sure whats going on.
I plan to stay on track even with the disappointment.

Sunday was pretty good. I got to spend the day with my boys anyhow. We went to breakfast, then did laundry and went to see a movie. We went to the arcade after. It was fun.

Yesterday I woke up with my knee hurting. It happens to me every now and I then. I end up sleeping on it wrong or twisting wrong.
Its not hurting today so I'm going to try to at least get some walking in.

My hubby came home from work on Saturday and was pretty happy. When they start construction on this line next month he is getting promoted. He gets a $10/hr raise, a company truck, company phone and some other stuff. He'll have a new crew that he gets to be the boss of. He has been wanting this promotion for a long time now so we're pretty excited.

Happy Tuesday!

Thanks everyone! I checked again this morning and I'm back down to 1lb over where I was on Sunday. I'm happier with that at least!

There is no way you gained 3 lbs in two days. Your weight will fluctuate with hydration and elimination. As Mama said, if you had a big loss on Sunday, this could just be recovery. Or it could be inflated weight because of a combination of TOM, water retention, bathroom habits.

If you know you're doing it right, you only need to worry about trends. Oh, and if you're doing it wrong, it often won't show up on the scale for a few days so a real gain from last week can show up this week when you're on track otherwise.

Congratulations on the raise! That's really great news.

If you've been working out hard, your muscles may be retaining water; if it is getting close to that time of month, it may also be water. Your scale may be crazy (I just had to order a new scale because mine went crazy). Did you possibly move or put new batteries in your scale? That can change the number in some scales. Most of all, whatever is happening, just remember... it would take 10,500 EXTRA calories for you to gain 3 pounds of fat. That definitely did not happen, so, as difficult as it is, try to remember that you did not gain fat, and that it will straighten itself out shortly.

Oh, one more thought. Have you recently had a big loss? Sometimes a big loss can partially be the result of dehydration, so then when your body rehydrates, you go back up (and often, you will temporarily retain extra water when "recovering" from being dehydrated).

You're doing a great job! emoticon and you'll be back down in no time!

Sorry about the weight gain, maybe it's just water weight.

Sounds like you had a fun weekend.

emoticon on your hubby's promotion!!!
