Bowling and new Challenge

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

Bowling yesterday was really great. I love doing things just me and dad. His team is fun to be around and we were bowling against so really great people. I had two games over 135, so that is awesome for me. I didn’t get my walk in before bowling, so I walked around the ally in between turns. So I made my steps for the first time this month.

Eating was still horrible. Compound that with a few glasses of merlot – sigh! I’ll get there. I need to learn how to say NO to fried cauliflower. I just love that stuff.

I also know I need to get back to some daily challenges. They kept me going before, and I was doing well in December because of it. So I’m going to try to come up with something every day that I CAN do if I just push a bit. Not extreme so I give up, just push the edge. Join me if you want.

So for today, I’m going to do 100 squats. I know I’ve got this.

I love bowling, but I'm so bad at it. I'm lucky if I bowl a 80 emoticon

Great job getting your steps in even if you didn't eat that well.... 100 squats sounds awesome.... and a little crazy!

Oh man, I love to bowl, but haven't done it in a million years. If I remember right, your score is awesome!

I can't think of anything that I'm worse at that I enjoy more than bowling. I love to bowl, but breaking 100 is nearly a miracle for me. Maybe if I went more often I'd get better.

I'm glad you had fun and got to spend some time with you dad. Fried cauliflower has got to be healthier than fried cheese so at least that's something.

Why don't you check out the Quick Fire Challenge team? They offer quick fire challenges each day like 100 squats. But, you, my friend, can have those! Glad you had fun bowling with your dad. You know, don't worry! What is some fried cauliflower and merlot in the grand scheme of things? Take enjoyment where and when you can! Grab those daily challenges and keep moving forward!

Daily challenges are so motivating. My latest is not "daily," but more like 3x week. I am challenging myself to do 3 planks per day (at least 1 minute each). Right now I have to do modified planks; I have a messed up right foot, so I don't know if I will ever be able to do full planks. However, even the modified ones are killer!

    Great attitude, Kitty.
I'm so glad for you that you enjoy spending time with your Dad at bowling. How wise of you to walk between turns to get your steps in. I am finally figuring out how to make waiting times into opportunities for extra movement. It's a slow learning process but I'm starting.
    Have a great day.

I like cauliflower too , in any way possible . I track before eating so not too much damage . I tend to throw heavy balls too hard so no bowling for me emoticon my knees aren't in great shape so no thank you , my 30 are enough emoticon

Bowling sounds like a fun evening, I haven't bowled in years; I think I'll add that to my list of things to do for an active fun day.

Great idea to set up daily challenges for yourself again. That should help a lot. I think I saw a team once that is a daily challenge team, maybe that could help give you some ideas.

    Have a fabulous day!

emoticon You're doing great! Don't sweat yesterday's calories. Today is a new day! I love your wanting to do a new thing daily! That should get you hopping. Let me know if you get all your squats in! I've got to walk 30 min and get 9 cups of water in today!

emoticon I LOVE bowling (I'm horrible at it, but it's so much fun) When all my kids get together, we all go bowling and split up into 2 teams and play against each other! It's also good cardio and ST for the arms!

    Have a great day, Kitty!!!

Sounds like your evening was fun. And kudos on the steps. Nice. Not a cauliflower fan so have nothing on that one. But guess what? Its a beautiful new day. Get those squats in. Have a good one.

100 squats! Sorry, not going to join you in that. I did my 26 and that's enough for me! I will be checking daily to "borrow" some of yours if you don't mind? Feel free to check out my "daily challenge" also. emoticon
