Are you on a diet?"

My answer to that question was a quick and firm No. Which after a second of thinking he then posed, "Well, what's with all the exercising?" MY Answer was well dear, its winter, I hate winter, I don't like being outside and freezing trying to go for a walk so since I have not been out I am trying to make up for all those walks that I would normally be doing in the summer. "Ok, darling have fun".

He knows that I love to walk, there were many nights when we were living in the same town that he would come see me after work, and we would end up walking either the boardwalk, the horse track and in the days he showed me some trails that were in the woods, that I didn't know about. Which was great because I now know where they are for the spring!

Later that night when he called me again, the poor guy is home sick and bored out of his mind, I asked him if he would care if I was on a diet. I got the typical answer he gives me "you are your boss girl" then he though for a second and went "diet diet, you don't need to do that the mice in the barn eat more then you! So does the cat !!!"

So right now as it stands I did not confess that I was trying to lose weight to him, but him being a smart fellow, will have without a doubt figured it out. And this is not a diet its a lifestyle change! By adding more physical fitness into my life and eating healthier choices, which is some what easier here, because in instead of living in the centre of town the way I used to, I am now 20 minute drive from the centre of town, and there is not one fast food joint out here.

But last night was a rough night for me I was still craving those potato chips and I know that there are 2 big bags of them in the basement. So I picked up a pack of white pitas (only because there was no whole wheat) and today I am making pita chips! I am going to try and kill this craving!

So last night I was getting ready for bed and I wanted those chips so bad, so I had an apple with brown sugar and cinnamon tossed on it for a different flavour and no luck. When I cuddled into bed I wanted those chips! So I turned on Mash 4077 on my computer, and said if I am awake after to shows I will go get the chips, well I still awake, and someone else was tossing and turning, so instead it was a trip to the fridge for milk, so I didn't disturb someone eases restless sleeping.

So those 2 bags are still sitting on the shelf in the basement and today I will munch on pita chips! That foil bag unopened, hopefully will stop yelling at me and will shut up!

In other news it looks like the weather has calmed down, no snow or rain, freezing rain, but all of the roads are ice. Ands its still -9 out there without the wind chill, so it will be another inside work out, but that's ok, maybe I will try and find something to do with that stability ball today! Or just pop in a walking dvd again!

I love your "not on a diet" response. People at work and elsewhere have started to comment on my slimmer look and ask me the same. I've been telling them I've decided to make some lifestyle changes, eat healthier and get more exercise, and I tell them all I'm doing it with SP!

You go've made your choices, and the results will speak for themselves.

Barbecue potato chips are my favorite. I did have 1 oz the other day and I don't regret it as it keep me from overeating them later. Have a great day and I like your "no diet" attitude.

You are on the absolute right track. There are no diets that work. Lifestyles have to change. That is why we are here right?

Don't deprive yourself, just eat in portion. Count out 12 chips and use it as a starch for the day. Great job resisting temptation and doing the workouts!

I've been asked that same questions numerous times. My answer is no. I am changing to a healthier and more active lifestyle.
I have a couple of bags of chips in the house just to test myself. So far so good. I've prepared some healthy snacks to counter it. If I can abstain by a preset date, I will treat myself to the chips. Hahaha .... it works for me. emoticon
