A quick new goal!

So I was reading a SP article on running in the city and they suggested doing a Google search for "running tracks in [your city]". While it came up with no real options for running tracks, I did find a local running club (three actually!) which lead me to find a very local run coming up soon! It's a 5k in April - 60 days from now! I have registered for a 6k obstacle course, but that's not until August (200 days from today!) So my training has gone from being something in the near future to "I NEED TO START TODAY!" This run is along the water front and is literally about half a kilometer from my home. I was joking that I could run to the starting line as my warm up and just keep going lol.

Anyways... I'm nervous. Its WAY too cold to be running outside (unless I want pneumonia :) ) so I've been looking into memberships at the local rec centers. It's a lot of money to commit... a lot of non-tax deductable money. I'm not sure what to do. Plus over the summer I'd much rather be exercising outside. There's pro's and con's to everything right.

  that is AWESOME!! what about getting passes/tickets to the gym? they generally never expire and if you only go 2 times a week it is often cheaper than getting a monthly pass. Something to look into as well!
