Push That Tush -- Put On My High Heeled Sneakers

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

GETTING READY TO 'PUT' ON MY HIGH HEELED SNEAKERS

ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

For those of you too young to remember...
'High Heeled Sneakers' was a hit song
Made famous by Tommy Tucker, Jerry Lee Lewis,
then Elvis, and revived by Rolling Stones)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=
I70z61wpqBQ

And Once again...I hope to push the exercise....
I'm falling behind again.
Today I'm going to aim for 5 minutes High Intensity Bursts throughout the day.
I know you're supposed to get 20 minutes of continuous exercise at a clip
but let's face it...
DOING SOMETHING beats the hell out of not doing anything.

I need to remember that even while watching TV,
I can be doing chair exercises.
Watching some of these chair exercise videos really changed my thinking.

EDWARDS1411 gave me a heads up on this great website that addresses the question of HOW MUCH EXERCISE DO YOU REALLY NEED?
For some of us...just thinking about it is a stretch.

I have to add my own comment here....
I notice a lot of people are questioning how people can run in these sneakers.
{...I'm 5'11"...I do not wear high heels...}
I don't think people are running in these...they are for style...
but
hasn't anyone watched CASTLE or MIAMI VICE or any of these detective shows where they have model wannabees playing the female agents...
ever notice the shoes they're wearing....PULEEZE
nuff said.

Get your butt in those shoes and get kickin. LOL. Pretty kinky to me. I could not stand them and wonder about people who wear stuff like this. They must be immune to foot pain. Food dead would be the correct term. LOL.

If any here are old enough to remember the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movies, you will remember how she not only danced in high heels but danced backwards in them.

I want to keep my feet healthy as long as I can. I refuse to wear heels.

I actually had a pair like that in the past! (not as high) These days, I'm smarter and wear comfie shoes. (smiling)

Read the article and now I have this image of me walking backward through the neighborhood!

I have to laugh when I see TV shows with women in high heels running. I can't imagine anyone doing that, either. I do love the picture of the high heeled sneakers--what a hoot!

Love the shoes but so not me. I would fall and hurt myself. I have begun 10 minutes of exercise daily just like spark guy. So far so good. Some days more some days ten is the max.

Well, technically you're actually supposed to run up on the balls of your feet and they talk about how bad "heel-striking" is when you run, so maybe those shoes could help people improve their running form!!!

I'm 5'2" ( on a good day) I can run in wedges and I always say I can run a marathon in them (although I've never run a marathon at all). It's do-able, with practice.

I'd break my neck just trying to put those shoes on...nothing but flats for me. I like being able to sneak in a few minutes of fitness wherever I can fit it in, and proper footwear keeps me prepared.

Yes! Somrthing IS always better than nothing! Exercise is the real key for me. If I work out, I seem better able to control my eating. Maybe it is psychological, but I'll take what I can get!!

High heels I never really enjoyed. I'll take sneakers any day-but not high heels.

My feet can't handle high heeled anything anymore LOL! You can do this. I agree, 5 minutes at a time is better than not doing anything!

It was only a matter of time until someone came up with high-heeled sneakers - what a hoot - you won't see me wear them LOL!

Check out this article, you're going to luv it (wish we could put direct links in blog comments!!!):

"There is no question that short amounts of exercise can help you get fit, help you stay fit, and help you maintain your health," says personal fitness coach Susie Shina, author of Sixty Second Circuits. "You can stay fit in increments as short as 4 and 5 minutes at a time."

So keep "bursting"!!!
