I'm back to checking my blood sugar pre-breakfast, in prep for a MD follow up visit this Thursday.
This morning, my blood sugar was 80! That is the lowest it's been in....since one afternoon when it dipped to 50. Most mornings I've been in the low 90's.
The weight loss strategy is working...I've lost over 10% of my body weight since being diagnosed in August. I'm tracking what I eat, most days. I have a fitbit to track my steps.
Exercise is still problematic. I did great in Las Terrenas...though I'd lost my fitbit just before we left (it had hid under the bed). I know walking into the village was 1k and we did that trip 4+ times a day.
Since returning I've yet to make a 10,000 step day, or about 5 miles. My best day has been over 8000, my worst...well last week I had 3 days of stomach bug and I didn't do much walking at all.
I've begun using light weights on my arms, and have watched the 1st yoga video - Foundations, for strengthening core. Now I need to actually do it.
My SAD has been pretty well controlled this winter. I had a couple of low days before the Caribbean; now, two weeks post return I'm beginning to feel signs. Signs like staying in this chair and my warm nightgown, sitting by my 'happy light' would be a fine way to spend the entire day.
This is check-in week, here, with my MD and with my spiritual director. I am continuing to take steps, in the right direction, the direction toward healthy living.
