Sleep is a nutrient like food and water

...and if I deprive myself of sleep I will have to deal with the consequences of a body lacking in that nutrient.
Yes, I have four young kids who still wake me up most nights but I can get to bed earlier to minimise the impact of those disturbances.
The irony is that by getting more sleep I'll be more productive and energetic during my waking hours = I won't actually have 'lost' any time.
I have nothing to lose by getting more sleep.

    My kids all sleep through the night but I often stay up too late anyway. Thanks for the reminder about sleep. I'm glad you are getting to bed early! emoticon

    Sleep is SO important. I know I start to feel at my wits end if I don't get a full nights in months. Thats where I am. I went to bed at 8:30 right after I got the kids down. Up only once last night...so I'm feeling better this AM.
May the sandman visit our children tonight, so Momma can get just ONE full nights rest to recharge!

    Sleep does make a difference in our daily routine but I remember those days when my kids were young. I am pretty good about getting my 8 hours a night now.
The only thing that might keep me from getting enough sleep now is my Chihuahua. He does not like the rain so he will bark and hyperventilate. He woke me up at 4 am this morning because of the rain!!!

    I don't miss those nights where you get up 3 or 4 times with the kids and then have to get back to sleep. Congrats to you for getting to bed early.
