5K Report

Ran a 5K last Saturday. It was a bit hilly -- 330 something feet of elevation gain. I paced out with a group that I would pass on the climbs, then they would pass me on the downhill. Ended up coming in at 28:46 (9:15 pace). That's a pretty good time for me.

I have a 10k in 2 weeks. It's a bit hilly as well. I would like to come in under a 9 minute pace. I'm not sure that's realistic. I'll have to lose some weight to pull that off, so here we go!

    I wanted to do this circuit so bad.. I heard about it a few months back. I was only held back by having the funds to do so.

    It starts at the Dee Events Center near Weber State University. That's in Ogden UT for all the non-locals. There's not much flat within 6 miles emoticon

If you're interested in the race, it's at stridersrunning.com. It's their Winter Training Circuit. I call it the Death Hill Championship emoticon . The 5K, 10K and 10 miler have quite a few hills. You can register for each race independently
