January Recap and Refining the Plan

Hard to believe that I have been at this for 5 weeks now.

A quick recap for the month of January:
Number of workouts: 20
Number of fitness minutes: 1310
Workout Average: 65.5 minutes

Days within caloric range: 10
(AHHHHHHHHHH - I don't know if this stat is skewed or not because I changed my fitness settings halfway through the month and then days I did do better or not because the calorie changed.)
However-I'm doing SOOOO much better in tracking, I'll be able to do a lot better in regards to the nutrition bit.

Weight lost: 5 pounds! Not a bad start. Since Christmas, I can tell you that I am down 8 pounds, but since I am only counting the month of January, 5 pounds it is.


Now for the refining portion - I AM going to get strength training back on my schedule. However, I have learned I need to do it in small chunks. So, today was upper body, and we'll go from there.

    That is great!! "Not a bad start"? I"d say it's an excellent start. You know, one pound per week weight loss is a HEALTHY rate of weight loss. It's just that most of us aren't very patient and might be discouraged or tempted to give up without seeing faster progress. But doesn't it look GOOD in hindsight? And if you keep doing what you're doing consistently, you'll keep making progress. That's 52 lbs. gone by the end of the year.

That's the kind of thing I need to keep reminding myself. I have a calendar on which I've written my goal weight - a REASONABLE goal weight - for each week. I am RIGHT on track. Some days, it seems like slow going. Some days, October seems like an eternity (that's when I'm due to hit my goal, if I keep this up consistently). But I try to focus on that trend line that reminds me I'm on the right trajectory, and I keep reminding myself that it took nearly 7 years to get to where I am today, so why do I think I can lose it in a month? Letting go of that is the biggest hurdle, I think, for me.

    Looks like you and I are on the same path. I lost 15 since Christmas but about 7 last month. I am great on cardio as well but not so much on Strength. I got the Total body Sculpting they offer to help out with that. It was only $6.70 on Amazon. Have a great week.
