Great workout...

I got in a fantastic workout today. None of my workout buddies showed today so I concentrated on my workout. It always seems to take forever when I am in the pool on my own. Today I decided to push myself a bit and see how it would go. I walked non stop in the river today for an hour and fifteen minutes and then switched to the lap pool for 45 minutes of lap swimming. I am dog tired but feel good at the same time. I feel like I am getting my feet back under me now. I am walking more and feeling a bit more like my pre surgery self.

My friend Shannon came down and spent the weekend with me and we went out dancing. I wouldn't have been able to do that a few weeks ago. I had a fun weekend and that was really nice.

I get so hungry when I workout and then it is hard not to eat away my workout. I am trying to do filling without a ton of calories and that also works with my diabetes. If anyone has any suggestions for my after workout lunch would be greatly appreciated.

    Syntrax Nectar Sweets chocolate truffle protein powder. It's 23 g protein per scoop and only 100 calories. AND it actually tastes great with milk and pretty darn good with only water.Really! I use a small blender and mix with abt 1 1/2 cup water. It gets nice and frothy. You can add an ice cube or use chilled water. I buy it on Amazon. It's the most protein for the least calories that I have found so far. For a real treat, add 1/4 scoop to a cup of Swiss Miss Diet (25 cal) hot cocoa mix for 50 calories total and abt 6 grams of Protein. It tastes very rich and chocolaty. You don't have to use a full scoop at once-do what works for you. (Hmmm...can you tell chocolate is my weakness?) I also eat LF skim mozzarella sticks for abt 45 cals and 6 or 7 gr protein. The protein helps you feel full longer and is great o have right after a workout. Good luck. You are doing great.
