New Eating Plan

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in November and have been working on control using medication and diet but have not been successful in bringing my numbers to the proper range. I have been researching various ideas and have decided that February was the month I would eliminate gluten, sugar and artificial sweeteners from my eating plan. I have also eliminated processed meats and reduced my dairy intake. Diabetes is not the only health issue I am working on but hope that these changes will push me in the right direction to a healthy me.
Unfortunately I started the new plan and taking vitamins on February 1 and have been sick with a cold, chills and fever ever since. Hopefully this is just my body saying "What are you doing?".
