Strength training

Monday, February 04, 2013

Lots of things go through my mind when I think about doing strength training.

Before:
Hmmm, I know it is good for me, but I just don't want to do it.

During:
Why am I torturing myself with this workout?

After:
So glad I did it. I feel GREAT!

Strength training done! Repeat conversation on Thursday.

Ah, good ol'strength training. I feel the same exact way but great job getting it done! I cannot say that I am fully 'there' like you, realizing how good I feel afterwards, more like...why am I bothering. However, when you start rocking those diesel arms I am sure that it will all be worth it! (Hmmmm, should probably listen to my own advice??)

BTW - did you know that they have these whole routines to do at bodybuilding.com? I just found out about this site in the new year and although I kinda wimp out on lifting these routines give me a good plan that I can stick to.

I never regret working out, but I always regret not working out!

I just finished my "heavy day" of lifts....yes, they are tough and there's always a little trepidation as I squat and lift and push against gravity.....

.....but man, when I look in that mirror and see these vascular arms and muscle definition......I juts tell myself to push through the pain.....it's only temporary!

Good on you!

I feel sad when I see how so many people dread doing their ST workouts. I remember way back when I started, I used to not be in the mood every time. But, it you do them consistently for - oh say - 30 or 40 years it gets to be a habit.

But seriously, I enjoy my workouts all the time and always find time to do them. I hope you get to that point some day, Daphne. Keep up the good work, and try to remember how good you feel afterwards.

Even when you don't feel like working out, just tell yourself you will do only 10 mins. Anyone can do that, usually you will just continue with a good length workout, but you always have to option to stop if you don't feel in the mood to continue after 10 mins.

LOL I am learning what to do and how to do it right, but must say do enjoy it, even though for years I would sort of half way do it.
Enjoy!
