Jan 2013 Stash Buster/ It's All About Me Challenge Updated 12th Feb 2013

Monday, February 04, 2013

I had 2199grams yarn in my stash to knit.

Here are the photos of the knitting I did for this challenge.

Snowflake gloves knitted in Paton's Kismet for my GD size 4 yrs

Snowflake gloves in Double Knitting yarn size 4 to 7 year old.

Large and small patchwork cushion covers in DK and Heather mix 4ply child's bolero

Close up of cushions

Unfinished sparkly DK Aran bolero size 4-5 yrs now gone into the UFO challenge on the "Knitters" team

There is also a children's machine knitted cowl, and a pair of Maroon DK gloves for an adult which I have knitted for a cat charity which I forgot to photograph. I will add them to this blog ASAP.

I loved this challenge and I knitted a total of 678grams by hand and machine knitting.
Not very much really, but its got me back to machine knitting which is really good exercise for the upper body. Good for the brain too! LOL!

Leaving 1521grams left to use in the next stash buster challenge which begins in April I think!

Pam the challenge leader gave us really good exercises and stretches to do each day, which was really helpful as a break from knitting, some I had never done before and really helped. I have added them to my tracker and will do them often.

emoticon Pam You did a great job as leader of the challenge emoticon emoticon

Yours Ellen emoticon emoticon

Here are the gloves which are actually maroon. I have given them to the cat charity.

This is the machine knitted cowl which is knitted, but not finished and is now a UFO.

Hi ELLEN, I just found you were blogging again. I kept looking before but since the Holocaust ones i looked and did not see it or get a subscription. I will do that now so I can keep in touch with you.
Gloves looked to pretty. I did it the lazy way and knit Mittens.
Your Boleros reminded me of my mother she was forever knitting me Angora Boleros to wear over her hand smocked dresses.
Thanks for the photos.
Pand B had a big factory in Billingham and 2 of my cousins and Fred's sister worked there. They were always giving myself and Mother Beehive Yarn holders. I had quite a collection but we left then behind along with my mothers Pattern books. Hug sPat

Wow, beautifully done! I'm in awe - I can knit, but just straight knit or purl stitches. Anything on the round or done with four needles is beyond my skill level.

Looks like you have done great. I've been so busy knitting this past month. Trying to get my inventory built up before my craft sales start up in March.
