I did my first ever session of C-2-5k today: my legs were trembly, my heart was pounding, sweat was pouring down my face - and then I got on the treadmill!
Seriously, though, it was fun. I was nervous, but it was sooooo worth it. First couple intervals sucked - but by the end, I was determined and wanted to keep going. I'm being smart, though - sticking with the plan. Leave a day of rest in between, don't push too hard, take it slow. Only other exercise I'm doing today is walking to work (which I do everyday and barely counts) and some yoga after work to de-stress and stretch out my muscles. No C25k tomorrow, instead it'll be regular cardio and weights.
Gotta head into work early today and do some jeans shopping. I haven't dropped a full size yet, but I got a tear on one pair of 16s, and another pair is not a flattering cut - I feel like a Fat Chick in them, and I *hatehateHATE* those jeans. So there's only one pair that fit well, and I can't work in a single pair of jeans. So I've got to bit the bullet and buy more, even though I hit the 3 pairs per size pseudo-limit I set. But then, when one tears, and I lose enough weight that another looks HORRID - I guess I need to get back up to 3.
Post-worktout snack was quite a treat. I had a:
Banana-Berry No-Dairy Smoothie
1 cup favorite veggie-fruit juice (I used a carrot-orange-mango blend)
1 medium banana, cut
1/2 cup each: strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries
Blend until desired consistency. Use fresh or frozen berries (I used fresh).
It's a little high-calorie, but super yummy, gives a big boost to your blood sugar after a workout, and gets all your fruit servings for the day out of the way. I think it might end up being my post-run treat. lol
Hurm. Nothing else atm. Still working out wedding plans - it's crazy how much planning goes into the whole thing, even when you're not doing a big wedding. Our guest list doesn't even top 30 people, including the "plus 1"s we're expecting! You'd think this would go quickly. Figuring out a venue is the hardest part so far. Hoping to get my Alma Mater - but I need to call and see if that's even possible!
Actual C-2-5k stats, for those who are interested:
