I saw the PA today to see if it was time to do another round of shots in my knees. The orthopedist that I go to doesn't do back injuries so when I said that I had hurt my back he said I would have to see either my PCP or the Dr. they refer people to. I don't like him. Since I was there he did do a quick assessment and says I pulled a muscle or strained it, duh. When I told him about the numbness in my toes, that got his attention. He said to definitely see my Dr. and to ask for a MRI. Meanwhile he said I could go to the fitness/aquatic center and use the pool only. He said to do gentle exercises, and not as many reps as I am use to. He said to start like I did when I first started PT. Walking the pool and hanging with the noodle. Use a heating pad and to also ice my back. I have pain patches that are left over from when I had shingles. He said I could use those.
