Just what I expected.

I saw the PA today to see if it was time to do another round of shots in my knees. The orthopedist that I go to doesn't do back injuries so when I said that I had hurt my back he said I would have to see either my PCP or the Dr. they refer people to. I don't like him. Since I was there he did do a quick assessment and says I pulled a muscle or strained it, duh. When I told him about the numbness in my toes, that got his attention. He said to definitely see my Dr. and to ask for a MRI. Meanwhile he said I could go to the fitness/aquatic center and use the pool only. He said to do gentle exercises, and not as many reps as I am use to. He said to start like I did when I first started PT. Walking the pool and hanging with the noodle. Use a heating pad and to also ice my back. I have pain patches that are left over from when I had shingles. He said I could use those.

I found some motivational quotes to inspire me to start on the fitness track again.

    Wow! I love that exercise is better than therapy! I'm glad you are advocating for yourself so well with your doctor. I spent most of last year walking the pool at my gym due to my IT band injury and it was boring. So I made up a gentle circuit for myself where I would do a couple walks back and forth and the stop to do some gentle kicking, then walk it sideways a couple of times and then a lap of the sidestroke. Made the time pass much faster. I hope you enjoy your re-entry and you take it slow and steady!

    You will feel better using the pool!! All the stress is off of your joints and back, and it will help you SO much!

    Well, at least you had your suspicions re: your back confirmed, but it definitely is a DUH! **SIGH** Well, hope that the your limited exercises along with just sticking to the aquatics.
