How hard should it be to buy a pair of walking shoes?

Monday, February 04, 2013

It was nice to see the encouraging comments about my upcoming walk. I have my training plan all worked out. I have a walking buddy. I just needed to pick up a new pair of kicks. Now, cash is really tight, so i was not planning to spend a large sum of money on them, but what an awful selection I found. I know...quality costs. Well, keep looking, I guess. Can't let a little thing like footwear become an excuse.

My father wears 13 and dh 12 W. We've had great success getting quality bargains at stores like Ross, Big 5, Sports Authority.

Thanks everyone. I don't usually make out too well in the thrift stores. I'll look. Clearance racks...I checked out a few. Big feet. But it does remind me of to stores I didn't think to look in before where I might have better success. Hi Casey...stay flexible.

I usually check out the clearance racks of department stores. I got my awesome New Balance shoes for $30 and they are normally $80 shoes.

Keep looking, you will find a pair you like. Also, Payless has Champion sneakers which are quite comfortable.

Check out thrift stores. Lots of people donate barely-used runners! Just make sure they're not "broken-in" before you buy them! I picked up a pair of mint Nikes for $10!

Good luck!
