The Love month and Weigh In's

Monday, February 04, 2013

Well as you all know, this month is the love month. But this year instead of concentrating on finding a special someone to dedicate the day to, I will be dedicating the whole monthe to myself emoticon

As of tomorrow, I will dedicate each day to one of my body parts and on certain days even doing something special for that body part emoticon

For example, Tomorrow I will start off with my hair, I'm currently transitioning to going natural and I have a full sew in weave. But Ikeep forgetting to oil my scalp, so tomorrow I will make sure that it is oiled :) Wednesday will be for my eyes, I am supposed to be wearing glasses but don't wear them as I should, so from tomorrow Wednesday I will pledge to wear them more often.... You get the picture right???

I'm using this year to regroup, get back to where I need to be spiritually, mentally, and get to where I need to be physically as well. I consider this year as a year of journeys for me. I plan to go natural, get fit (first part of the year, losing the weight, second part getting toned), and stay single. I have found that when I'm in a relationship, I usually put my wee-being second to my significant other's, and you don't have to tell me that thats not right. So until I can find a balance I'm staying happy and single.

Now for my question for all you ladies, do you weigh in once a month or once a week, and why???

I'm trying to find a balance! emoticon

Honestly? I try and avoid it, and if I do, I don't let it get to me. That scale can be depressing lol....

I feel you on the weave issue!! I 'm trying to get one(natural underneath) for the gym and I'm mostly in braids....us chicks and hair lol...

    Thanks for sharing emoticon

Congratulations on your journey to a healthy lifestyle.

I'm not sure if you need to stay single, just don't get in a relationship with someone who requires you to give more to the relationship than they are willing to give. Don't be afraid to ask them up front, then move on if you don't like the answer you receive. Saves a lot of pain and wasted time on someone who does not appreciate your efforts, and time you can use dedicating to making yourself healthy and happy. emoticon

I think its a great idea to focus on yourself!

I weigh in once a week, I feel like it keeps me a little more accountable on a daily basis. And since I weigh in on Saturday it motivates me to get active-er on the weekends.

I usually weigh in once a week and around the same time each week since your weight can flucuate throughout the day.
