So yesterday was a good day... For the most part anyways. I watered the plants and saw that I have 4 garlic sprouts! I'm very excited to have garlic growing for the first time because I love garlic and I love using it in different dishes. My corn plants are doing good. My first batch had a few that are dying so I planted 18 new ones last weekend and all of them popped up yesterday which is truly amazing.
My boyfriend and I cleaned out the car yesterday because it truly needed it. We went to Chico last month to visit his family and his sister was cleaning out her garage so she gave a lot of stuff to my boyfriend and all the stuff he got ended up in the car. We were able to sort through almost everything and found a huge amount of water in the trunk so we had to take out all of the carpeting and side panels in the trunk to dry out because it smelled like it was starting to mold. We got most of the stuff dried out and reorganized in the trunk and the back seats. I was able to vaccuum out the car and car mats so it looks a lot better. We are trying to get the car cleaned up so we can sell it in a few months once we get the used car we want from Hertz Rentals. We have a 1990 BMW and we are just tired of how much money it costs to fix anything on this car so we want to sell it and replace it with a Chevy Aveo.
We went grocery shopping last night at Safeway. I was able to add a lot of coupons and deals onto our Safeway card from the Safeway website. We saved a lot of money! I was able to get a lot of meat products to last us 2 weeks. I have a lot of vegetables and rice to utilize with the meats that we picked up. I got thin center cut pork loin chops, thin beef steaks, Jennie-O Ground Turkey, and 2 packages of ground beef 80/20. Sure it sounds like a lot of red meats but I always make sure to not use a lot in each meal that I make. The ground beef is about 3 pounds per package so I break it up into 3 nights per package to really stretch it out.
Yesterday I tried something new... I toasted an english muffin and put a very small amount of margarine, fried up 2 egg whites with a bit of pepper, and put a slice of cheese ontop. It was pretty filling when I paired it with a banana and 10 strawberries. It was really low fat and low calories for everything I ate. It is something I think I can do again but egg whites are going to be something I have to get used to. They are so bland but I think if I add some vegetables to them it will be much better.
