I have no excuses left! Neither does the hubby!
The Super Bowl was the absolute last hurrah for us, we did a buffalo chicken dip and the good ole standby (almost wrote satanby, Freudian or what?) nacho beef dip. Ate our fill, he had his beers, I had my Twix (PMS and big eating day are a perfect mix, a perfect mix to mess up!) But we are done!
Our son is on board, he's ready to eat his freggies, as he said yesterday "if you put vegetables in front of ME you know it won't be a problem" Oh that kid! He cracks me up. But he's right, if we put veggies in front of him he'll eat them, so I can't use the excuse that my kid won't eat them! I found a fantastic recipe on here for parmesan zucchini that I can't wait to try (maybe tonight even?)
We did some packing Saturday, got down and dirty (wow I need to dust a lot more) but I got a lot of stuff packed, thrown away and in general did a lot of work. Now that needs to be a daily habit, tonight will be shopping for good foods, cooking, getting some homework done (the kid) and then packing up my cookie sheets, big pans, muffin tins etc, stuff I don't need.
So I had planned on being 5lbs lighter last weekend...I don't know if I am or not, I never got a chance to see because I can't find my scale. My house is a wreck! So I'll be looking tonight and that's another step I want to make, weighing on a once a week basis. Maybe twice a week. My Wine Wednesday ladies and I are visiting a place called World of Wine, so Wednesday will be my tough day as we can put away some wine! But that day I'll be bringing really healthy for lunch and dinner will be light snacking.
I loved an article I read that debunks popular diet myths...like eating breakfast. It says that people who eat breakfast are typically thinner...not true! Thank goodness! I can't stand to eat breakfast until about brunch time. I'll do coffee maybe, but scarfing down a granola bar at 7am is just not my thing. It makes me sleepy (no matter what I eat) and it usually opens the door to crazy eating all day! The article basically says, just eat your normal calories for the day, stick to the freggies and lean proteins (all the healthy stuff we all know we're supposed to eat) and cut out as much sugar as you can and you're all good!
I had a cinnamon raisin bagel and a Laughing Cow wedge of cream cheese. I know, not the best and I'll be shopping tonight for some grapes (one of my favorite breakfast items) so I can fill up on those (such awesome fiber) and I'm drinking 24 oz of water today, so I'm off to a pretty good start! Packing at least 4 boxes tonight...small (possibly) silly goals (to some) but I'm gonna do what works for me. The time is now, when it gets warm the last thing I want to do is find myself dreading to go outside because its too dang hot for me, I want to enjoy this summer while we help our son heal (hip surgery, April 3rd)
