Continuing on my resolution to make monthly resolutions (
) I thought I would start by posting a bit of an update concerning January's resolutions. They were:
1) Cut out energy drinks- Success!!! Haven't had one since the last week of 2012. :)
2)Cut sugar out of my coffee- Haven't had any sugar in my coffee since the middle of January, so doing good!
3)Drink more water- Fail.
, This will be high priority for this month.
4)Meditate everyday- Fail.
Once again- this will be a major focus in February.
All in all, I'm not too disappointed with myself, and I see a couple of areas that I have to work on. In the last month I watched a few documentaries (probably a bad idea) concerning the American diet and such. While watching Glass Walls and Forks over Knives I found that not only do I find the cruelty involved in American slaughterhouses to be appalling, but the state the animals are in by the time they reach the slaughterhouses grosses me out- making meat a less desirable food option. Since we already don't eat beef or ham (unless on pizza) I have decided I would just cut it completely out as well as chicken. So here is my list of resolutions for February:
1) Drink more water!!
2) Meditate daily.
3) Eliminate beef, pork, and chicken (other than eggs and milk.)
4) Continue to cut refined sugars from our diet.
5) Fit in at least half an hour of Yoga or some other form of workout.
I know I'm pushing it with 5 resolutions this month (especially since I was only successful at two of them last month) but I will continue to work on the ones I don't completely succeed at throughout the year. I think the thing that will make some of these difficult is that my hubby isn't too supportive of going "meat-free". He seems to think that if I make the change myself I will force it onto him. I don't think he realizes that I've eliminated most meat from his diet already and that he'll only be giving up chicken and pepperonis, lol. Since my water consumption is based on how busy my schedule is I have decided to add reminder alarms on to my phone and computer.
Wish me luck- and good luck to all of you!
