Well, I just completed my first week of the Virgin Diet and am amazed with the results. I have been experiencing more energy than I have in years! My mood has stabilized (and that is a blessing...just ask my husband and kids) and I have lost 6 lbs to boot! My mother started the same time as I and she lost 8 lbs... we are the dynamic duo!!!
The most amazing thing that I am learning on this journey towards health and wholeness is to count it ALL joy. I am so encouraged by the little victories along the way. Whether it includes the sheer willpower to pass on my granny's birthday cake, to just say no to that piece of fried chicken when out with girlfriends and say yes to a wonderfully delish green salad, or meeting so many likeminded individuals, I am encouraged and full of JOY! I think the best thing that is occurring in my life is that I have the energy and focus to plan a healthy and delicious meal for my family each and every day (this is a huge accomplishment for a family who ate out 2-3 per week with my life always seeming so hectic to cook). Gotta give a big shout out to Spark Recipes as I tried a couple recipes and my family and I LOVED them.
I would like to thank each and every one of my SparkFriends for your blog entries, huddles or encouraging words. This time around I am committed to gaining a whole new perspective on health and wellness not just eyeing the scale or burning the calories. This is a more holistic journey and I am so happy that you guys are along for the ride.
