Sorry, that song got stuck in my head when I came up with my subject for today. I wasn't on track to have a stellar eating day yesterday & a PR is no excuse. It's not that I ate terribly, but a protein bar for lunch & almost no freggies by noon does not a stellar eating day make.
But you really can turn it around . . . in a heartbeat.
I like to reward myself for a hard/long run with some PB filled pretzels. It's a great post race snack; if not the most nutritious one.i measure them out & have them in a small bag in the car (or on my fuel belt if it's a longer run; I don't need a fuel belt for a 4 miler -- which is nice).
I followed that up with a honey stinger bar, my fav protein bar I also only have after races or long runs.
But then I got to thinking about my total lack of any vegetable . . . and even tho I didn't dig right into them, I made a plan. By this point my hunger had abated.
So my next snack was an app,e - and since I'd had a banana pre race, I'd gotten my fruits in.
Then I added a salad & baby carrot sticks to dinner.
I got my 5 servings on! Most days I get in more, but I was pleased to get in the minimum yesterday.
There is always time to turn your life around. The only time you fail is when you give up!
