Heartbroken, a beloved Grandparent passed away.

Thursday evening we are told my fiancé's Granddad is in hospital unwell, and early Friday morning we get that call, you know from the time that its nothing good and he passed away in the night.
We planned a less than a year engagement in the sincere hope my fiancé's Granddad would be there, we planned everything 350 miles away from where we live, so no elderly family have to travel.
He wasn't my Granddad, but he meant so much to me, his overjoyed happiness at our engagement was one of the most sincere moments we experienced when announcing. My fiancé is so broken, his Granddad was his hero and its so hard to imagine now him not being at our wedding, it hurts so very bad. There will be a big space.
Nobody has found this thought selfish, I was afraid people would, but my fiancé's Mum brought it up herself, telling us how he was so looking forward to it, his first grandchild to get married.
It's a lesser world without this wonderful man in it any more.
I went to a florist this morning to see if they can make a tribute by Wednesday for us to collect before we drive up on Thursday.
My fiancé's Mum has asked me to make some cakes for the Wake, I'm making a Guinness Fruit cake as Guinness was one of his favourite drinks, and this seems fitting.
We are both very tired and sad, and I'm sure that once we go on Thursday things will hit us even harder, especially for my fiancé when he sees his Mum.
