throwing in the towel?

Monday, February 04, 2013

So question... How do you lose weight when the 24 hr gyms in your city cost anywhere from $50-80 per month and you can't afford it and you just can't stay motivated at home? I do plenty of cardio (walk 1 hr to work and 1 hr home) and need more strength training but cannot stay motivated enough at home to do it. Videos seem too hard. This is extremely frustrating

maybe you could find a bootcamp that you like. Most of them are reasonable. Some even offer $5/day drop in rates so you could go when you have the money. Just remember some is always better than none. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

Keep trying different videos. I like Denise Austin. She has a lot of videos out there, some are easy and some are hard. Don't give up,you can do it!

Workouts don't have to be intense to work. Simple walking is amazing. I know with the cold weather it can be difficult to go outside... Take baby steps.. If the exercise is stressing you right now, take a step back. Focus on calories, water and sleep. If you are a soda pop drinker, try eliminating that.

There are lots of things you can do toward a healthy lifestyle that don't include a gym. :)

But... Never ever throw in the towel. Unless its into the wash once in a while. ;)

I find it hard to stay motivated at home too and I cant always afford the gym either, the only thing I can say is that if you want to do it, you will find a way.
I've had a rough couple of weeks and working out has been pushed to the back seat but ultimately I know I have to choose to work out at home or choose not to.. it's all just about choices.

When I dont want to 'work out' I put on my ipod, pick up my little dumbbells and dance with them, sometimes for an hour straight, it picks up my mood and I a;ways feel good afterwards.. its not the most intense workout but its better than sitting doing nothing I suppose..
