I bought a (cheap) pedometer yesterday (I have it clipped on right now!) - and worked my way through the settings etc. It has two little sensors on it that are supposed to be able to measure your fat %. So, according to this little computer I have a fat % of 36.4 - which is the obese range. At 126lbs and 63cm tall, I don't think I'm obese - well, I know I'm not. So - either I have got a scarily hight percentage of fat - or the machine isn't reliable.
There is a fat % measure on the digital scales in the chemist's shop in town - so when I weigh myself next time I'll pay the extra 20p and do a fat calculation ................ I know I'm a bit flabby but I am very worried at that fat percentage!
OK - just calculated my waist/hip ratio on the SparkPeople calculator - and I'm 0.83 which is 'moderate' and 'avocado' shaped! Also read article that says the electronic fat-calculator's are pretty unreliable - so I've added a new goal: to reduce my waist/hip ratio to 0.8
