Finally made it but just.

Sunday, February 03, 2013

It has been a very long time for me to have the time to walk 10,000 steps or more. Today I finally made it thanks to a friend who asked me to walk with her. She called and i dropped everything and we walked in our Home Depot store. I think since it was super bowl Sunday there were less people in there. The walk was great -everyone asked us if we were looking for anything. We actually did stop a few times to browse over lights and vanities and kitchen faucets.
We walked 2.25 miles by my pedometer.

I went home to Spark and then I had to prepare dinner early so I could do some strength training. Using two videos I was able to get extra Spark points too.

After supper I was planning to go back but the phone rang and I needed to hear my son's voice for a while. Then DH took over.

DH and I had a TV date for 2 hours of Downton Abbey we love it so much we watched the previous episode and we enjoyed time together. As soon as 10 pm came around I was down to do the 2 mile walk with the bands so it was like 3 ST sessions.

Food was excellent today and the only item over was cholesterol but only over by 3 so it has been an excellent work out with both trackers and that makes me feel I am back in control.
Today my stepper shows 10763 and I had a nice day seeing a friend, talking to a son, watching TV together so all is well in my little world.

Day 3 is done and on to day 4.
DH is doing everything for himself now and he is excited when he finds his range of motion is improving so quickly. Problem is the muscle is still painful and I am thinking he should have had PT sessions so I will be looking in to that tomorrow. I need someone to evaluate it before he continues on medication.

Pat in Maine, no snow this weekend and 2 sunny days in Maine..

I love that show! For some reason my recorder did not record last week's episode and I wasn't home to realize it, but luckily this station broadcasts both last weeks show followed by this weeks, so I was able to watch it after all. So sad, but that's life. I love the fashions of that era.

We may get a break from snow this week too. The snow is almost all melted.

Good job on the steps. I enjoy places like Home Depot. We don't have one here.

I have never seen Downtown Abbey but have heard really great things about it.

Great job Pat. Sounds like things are really getting back to normal for you both. I would suggest you go ahead and look into having Physical Therapy for hubby. While doing it yourself is great, I have found that the PT's can tell if your range of motion is correct and exactly what the issue is if it isn't exactly right. It may simply be that hubby needs a slightly different exercise to help him fully heal and get the range of motion. It may take only a few sessions to make things much better.

Take care.

Cathy

Pat what an accomplishment you have made. It is good that you can do all of those exercises and walking so far. You are really an amazing lady.

Glad to hear that Fred is doing so well. Hope everything goes ok with the PT sessions. Sometimes they can help and other times they don't. Hope he continues on a very good recovery.

I will continue to say prayers for the both of you.

Wishing you both a very good day.

Love Dot

Pat, you are really on a roll!!! emoticon emoticon There are some malls around here that open the main doors early (9AM) for walkers to walk the mall before the stores open. It's amazing how many people do this especially when the weather is so cold. One of them even had info that if you walked the full length of the mall and went down each of the alcoves, you had walked a mile!

Looking forward to reading about the rest of the month. "HI" to DH!!!

hugs....Mary Anne

Good job!. I haven't made 10,000 yet this year. I need to do that. I did get a fitbit his year and it is the only pedometer that will work for me. None of the others I have tried seem to work right. I agree Fred should have some therapy.

Good job on the steps! I am glad it was a good day.

Oh my gosh . . . I don't know why I assumed your DH was getting physical therapy! DEFINITELY I'd look into that. And it does take awhile for muscle soreness post operatively to complete abate.

Well, onto a good Monday. HUGS my dear. You are doing so very well.

Good to hear that not only are you back on track with your program but also that Fred is progressing so well! Awesome job with your walking, it would not have occurred to me to get so much walking done at Home Depot, makes sense though since the store is so large. Keep up the good work!

Good thinking to take your walk in the store!

A little heat on that muscle for your DH after he exercise will make it feel a whole lot better as it gets back into shape. Some nice warmth helps the muscle relax a bit.

Glad you had such a nice day and a talk with son to cap it off!

Sounds like a very very good day!!

We had snow on the way home from our friends' house where we watched the Super Bowl.

IT was not predicted so the whiteout conditions were a bit scary..

Glad you are back on track, sleep well!!! HUGS emoticon
