Planned Ahead, Conquered Super Bowl Sunday

Of course, I knew it was coming. We all did. Super Bowl Sunday is an important social event, and there will always be tons of food. I set myself up for a good calorie day by starting with bananas and skim milk for breakfast, a lean-beef stuffed pepper for lunch, and then I measured out portions of Super Bowl Sunday food so I could have fun without going overboard. I stuck with two 3-oz. servings of pulled pork in steamed pitas, rather than anything fried, measured out one serving of Tostitos white corn chips, and had some salsa. I wanted something sweet, so I had a couple of oatmeal & raisin cookies and half a piece of cheese cake. No alcohol. In terms of exercise, I walked two miles this morning, ran around and played frisbee for two hours this afternoon with my high-school sons, and stayed on my feet most of the rest of the day, keeping busy with party set-up and clean-up. All my numbers lined up, and I'm right in the zone!
