I am blessed with many wonderful friends and family. I thank god for surrounding me with these wonderful people, parrothead friends and not parrothead friends, for they have held me up at crucial times and walked me through the deep waters of my grief and tears. God has provided their strength and love to hold my head up ( or phins up for parrotheads) when myhead and my phins were sinkinking so low. For all of these people including my friends here on Spark People, I am forever grateful!
These friends, while holding me up, are also the triggers for tears. Yesterday I made it until 5:30 (when the mail carrier came) with no tears but when I got the mail and opened my letter from Parrot Pete detailing his and Linda Lou's past year I was overwhelmed and the tears poured again. Parrot Pete had included a collage of photos some of which were of he, Linda, & Ed on our friend's boat in the Poconos. It was taken in August, the 3rd week of August when we were all together and making plans for the anniversary party we were to have had last month. Then there was the photo of Pete and our friend Wayne standing in front of the marquee that announced that the owners of the Aberdeen Barn were praying for Ed and our family. I couldn't hold the tears at bay.
Again I was blessed because a friend was coming over to go to dinner then we were going to watch a slapstick comedy. Who would have thought that The Three Stooges could be a blessing but the movie was. We laughed at the stupidity and ridiculousness and that was a blessing!
Tonight I probably ate too much, at least I fell like I did. I went to a Super Bowl Party and there was sooooooooo much food. It could have been worse though since I had not eaten lunch. I know that I should but the grandboy and grandgirl were here and I had a couple of errands and we went for a nice walk and I just forgot to eat.
Anyway, it was nice to be at the party with good friends and I didn't feel out of place, another blessing. We ladies watched the game downstairs and the guys were upstairs. Everyone gave me a hug, and Doc asked if I was going to give a full hug instead of a half hug some women give. He knows that I don't give half hugs but he always asks. Being there was comfortable and that was another blessing.
My friends and my daughter received monetary blessings. Two friends and my daughter won money on game pools and I couldn't ask for better people to win! Congratulations to them all!
