I got to the Y at about 10 this morning. I walk in and march up to the front door, tell them I want the Day Pass ready to pay $17. After filling out a little card with name, address, email, phone # they told me where to ind the locker room as well as the code to get in.
After getting changed, I headed back upstairs to where I saw the Cardio room and hop on the treadmill. I accomplished 2 miles in 27 minutes. Looking around I see others wiping the machines down after completing their workouts; however I don't see anywhere to get the wipes. So, overcoming my social anxiety, I approach a woman who'd been stretching by the wall. Finding that we were both newbies, she took me over to the front desk where, apparently one of her friends working, asking her to take me around and show me where everything is. She couldn't leave the desk, but she had someone else show me.
After that walk around, I went back to my workout. I did another 2 miles on the treadmill in 28 minutes, .6 of a mile in 10 minutes on the elliptical -after 10 minutes I couldn't do anymore. My legs were burning. The elliptical is NOT a motion I'm used to although I DO WANT to keep using it- and 21 minutes on the stationary bike. That gave me 86 minutes of cardio. Then I stretched a bit before finishing up with some strength training. In total I was there for 2.5 hours.
The end result being that I really enjoyed my day-even if my feet are a bit sore from being on them all day. Since getting home I havent sat down much either.
Today's stats as a direct result of my Y visit:
-24,420 steps taken
-11 glasses of water drunk
-96 minutes spent on my workout
And... looking at the dates of my previous blogs, I realized I'm blogging a lot more often. This year is MY year!
