Just Couldn't DO IT!

Happy Superbowl everyone.

Now, there is something you should know about me. Superbowl to me is a Holiday. Superbowl to me is SUCH a Holiday, that when I used to work, I used to use a PTO day for Superbowl Monday. I LOVE Superbowl. I cheer, I laugh at the commercials, I cry at the Budweiser Clydesdale commercials (every dang time). I hug Miller Lite Girls/Heneiken Girls, random girls (and guys). I eat. I drink. I party like a rock star. I literally sit there and debate when I should go to the bathroom because I do not want to miss a THING. I dance during the half time show. I wait patiently for wardrobe malfunctions. In other words I am a Superbowl Fanatic.

I had planned to forget all about my healthy living for the day. I even tracked some fish and chips, and a bunch of booze. I was even thinking of some chicken wings and sharing a cheesecake with my mom.

I went to the gym today. I did an hour of very intense Zumba (the sub today was Ah-may-zing), and Yoga. You know what? After starting out day so healthy, I just couldn't do it. I can't. I can't eat all that stuff. Instead I am going to get my yummy black bean burger with avocado instead of mayo. I AM going to add some fries, because I have been craving fries since August. They do not give you a huge portion of fries at my pub. It is more like maybe a medium (more like a small) order of Mickey Dee fries. I am not going to get the wings or the cheesecake. I will have a beer or two. I think that is MUCH better food decisions and I will not regret it a much in the morning, but will still enjoy my day.

I will STILL laugh at the commercials, and cry at the Clydesdales. I will still wait for a potential wardrobe malfunction and dance during the half time show. I just will not eat a disgusting amount of fat, sodium and calories.

Go Me. Go 49ers. See you in the Superbowl next year Packers

i have noticed that overeating at holidays does not give me the joy that it used to. i roasted a turkey this weekend but did not make any of the "traditional" and fattening sides that do with it. instead i am going to used it to make some healthy meals during the week.
