Week 5 ,,,, lost a total of 5 pounds from Jan 1,,, not bad,,, celebrate even small successes

Ok,,,, I admit,,,, it is not earth shattering that I lost 5 pounds from Jan 1,,,,,, but it is success.

I am taking this one small step at a time,,,,,, eating better,,,,, smaller portions,,,, no crash diets ,,,, no diet pills,,,,, love & support from friends, family & especially my spark friends! And accepting that even small steps are significant,,,, they show a change. I remind myself that it is going to take time BUT if I lose 5 pounds every month until June,,,,,, that would be a 30 pound loss,,,,,,, I might be able to wear a pair of shorts during the summer!!! woo hoo! emoticon

So it may seem silly to celebrate such a small loss but I will do it..... I will pat myself on the back for working towards a healthier me. It is not easy because I want to dismiss my small weight loss,,, but big things do come from small little insignificant starts,,, right? RIGHT!

Motivation,,,,, I need it too,,,,, but I am finding that if I move,,,, I actually enjoy it and THEN I get motivated,,,, but to get the ball moving (or my rear end off the couch or stop doing chores around the house & spend time exercising) ,,,, now that is tougher,,,,, especially now as a single mom,,,, I am responsible for EVERYTHING,,,, large or small,,, not complaining,,, just saying that there are a lot of little things that have to get done everyday,.,.,.,.,. very hard making myself a priority but I must,,, I must,,, I must make me a priority in my own life. emoticon

Hope I am not boring all my friends out there,,,,,, but blogging does help me stay focused,,,, and helps me assess where I am going from here ...... more than I thought it would.

Have a great Superbowl day for all you sports fans,,,,,, and remember eat lots of healthy! emoticon

    You're doing great Lily, every little bit is definitely worth celebrating.

    I reward myself every ten pounds, nothing much (and not chocolate etc, though I did once get a lobster!) was a new nail varnish last time.
    You could do it every two pounds sneakily means you've two nice little presents to come!

    Ey, stop calling it small! I only lost 3lbs in January and I am proud of every single one of them. You look at a photo, see what 5lbs of fat look like and you'll never call it 'just 5lbs' again.

    I agree. It's averages to a pound a week. That's a healthy way to do it. It's not little. 2 pounds a week is a screaming fast way to lose weight so don't knock it.

    Hey...don't make me come down there and slap you.....5 lbs IS earth shattering for LOTS of people so don't down play it !!!! 5 lbs is a woohoo jar moment for sure!!!!
