Wow!! 3 months at SparkPeople have really changed me

emoticon 3 months ago today I joined Spark People. In that time frame I have made alot of changes. I've lost 6.6 pounds I have went from 27.4% body fat to 25.5%. My BMI went from 26.1 to 25.1, 0.1 short of being at a healthy weight and no longer overweight. I joined Spark Coach and haven't missed a day. Telling myself I only have to workout 10 minutes a day has completely changed my mindset. My monthly fitness minutes were 822 minutes-Nov 2012, December 2012- 2667 minutes, January 2013 - 4493 minutes. I joined the January Jumpstart Fitness Challenge and The Better Sleep Challenge in January never missing a day. I discovered that even if I am eating and working out if my sleep is bad that week I have a weight gain. I have made sleep a priority. I bought a fitbit one which really shows how much I am moving and how I am sleeping. In the past 3 months I have logged in to Spark People 85/92 days. I am currently on a 35 day fitness streak. I have never exceeded my daily calorie range. If I want a certain food I plan it in to my day and eat lower calorie meals that day so I can enjoy without guilt. I have met many great people on Sparkpeople who motivate me everyday. Coach Nicole's videos are amazing and I have all of her dvds. The old me would have been frustrated I haven't reached my goal weight yet. but I only have 5,2 pounds to go and I know I will make it there and be able to maintain due to the support I am getting from Sparkpeople. emoticon

  Way to Go. I feel motivated again just reading about you. You will get there in no time. i will tell you that I am substantially overweight and taking my time but it is also coming off. I am fortunate to be live 3 miles from the Bus Terminal where I live and walking helps a lot ( So does not paying 2.85 each time for the Bus) I just put on my music and go. i like your reminder about sleep. I work overnights and sleep in the day. It's not the same, but I choose my shift because I prefer it. sleep is really important.. Well done. emoticon emoticon

  This was so encouraging! I was thinking this morning that I joined SparksPeople 2 mos ago and have only lost 5 lbs. and was just getting overall discouraged for the timeframe. But it is not how fast and how much in that fastness as it is to remain steadfast! So thank you so much for posting this! emoticon

Sometimes it doesn't matter how much weight we have to lose, it's all in how we feel about our bodies and what things matter most to us.

Thanks for posting your blog and for encouraging me and many others to keep on Sparking!

I have a Fitbit as well and love the way it "encourages" me to stay active as much as possible. I deliberately climb steps each day to "beat" myself, from the day before. It challenges me to walk 5000, but 10000 is better! And my sleep numbers are slowly but surely improving.
