You can do anything for 56 days

Sunday, February 03, 2013

56 days. That's 8 weeks and that is how long the Winter Challenge will be. I am really good at some things -- water? no problem! logging in daily? EASY! However, I am not so good with
1)tracking EVERYTHING I eat (you'd think I never have anything after lunch most days)
2)NOT giving in to emotional eating
3)Doing exercise, even 20 minutes, every day -- 4 days a week, easy but some days I just can't get my butt off the couch
4)Getting enough Freggies
5)Being happy -- or at least happy-ish

But here is my commitment for the Winter 5% challenge and I can say this because I do believe that I can do ANYTHING for 56 days.

Every day I will
LOG MY FOOD (even the binges)
HALT BEFORE EATING (Ask "Am I hungry, angry, lonely, tired?")

And what I'm hoping is that by day 57, this'll all be as easy as water for me.

What a woman! You will probably find that these things become second nature to you. That's why I find these challenges so helpful to me. I can let myself down all the time, but I hate to let the team down!

I will be a cat. emoticon

Over the course of 8 weeks you can develop some very healthy habits - this sounds like a great plan to get those habits in place. Please keep us posted as to how it goes...

I'll be seeing you in the Winter Challenge then.

Great positive attitude about the 57 day possibilities.

I give you credit for you ambitious goals for the challenge.

I know from experience that logging everything is very time consuming so I hear you when you say you'd think you never ate anything after lunch. I have made it a habit and if anything I don't log that last snack of the day but always know that it does fit in the calorie count.

Being a boredom eater I have to be very aware of this and be very conscious about why I'm eating. I think that it would be much more challenging to be an emtional eater. Sounds like Emma has some practical suggestions for you. Great idea to think about one happy thing each morning. I hope youll discover some helpful strategies during this 57 day during.

All the best on the Winter Challenge. Looking forward to hearing your progress through the weeks.

The water's my problem! But I find the tracking can fall away as well. The challenge is very good at keeping us in line. See you on the journey. I'm a Casual Traveller again.

I feel for you because you are experiencing the emotional eating problem and I have been there many times...It may help to set aside time in the morning to think about where you are emotionally and give yourself permission to feel your feelings. Also time to read and journal about problems and solutions. Hope this helps!!
