So far am 7 pounds down and couldn't be happier! It really is mind over matter :). I used to never put myself down and lately I had been. Well I stopped and just kept giving myself compliments and Ryan's compliments helped as well. And BAM starting to lose weight. Now just need to stay on track.
Last night did have a small slip. I had Ryan go get me a country cone. Well only one bite got taken because it was gross!!! The cone was soggy and the ice cream had a funny taste. I had to chug down water it was so bad. Not sure what was wrong because I adore country cones. But hey guess it was a good thing!!
Ok so for the huge project!!!
Well my friend Amber has gone above and beyond for her dog rescue. She has spent so much time on it and money she has no time for herself or family. Thankfully her daughter and husband support her all the way! They have their bonding time with it.
She is always in need of supplies for shelter. So Ryan and I have decided to make her dog houses! Now these houses have to be a decent size, after all she is a pitbull rescue. She spends so much on shade and rain shelter!
We plan on building her 5-10. It all depends on cost, after all this is coming out of my pocket and Ryan's! Then we will have a chip-in to get a u haul. We no longer live close to her (11 hours away) so we will need one to get them to her. Then if we raise extra for the u haul we will donate the rest to her rescue for food and vet bills. She takes the dogs most shelters would put down.
She just got in a dog that looks as if he was used for bait. His legs are torn up but he is so sweet. She has a huge vet bill coming up for him because he is Cryptorchid (his balls didn't descend) and it can cause major issues for him if it doesn't get fixed right away. That surgery alone is going to be about 300-800 (depends how long he is under).
She is the one who rescued our foster Sadie. She is about to rescue more dogs from the guy. She is waiting for him to slip up and this time the law will be involved. I love her for everything she does. Plus once we get all these to her I am treating her and her daughter to a spa day or something. She deserves everything! Maybe once she gets these houses she can focus on saving money to having an actual building for them! With heart and AC.
We are huge Aggies and she is a huge Longhorn fan. So we are going to do some maroon and white and then some burnt orange and white. Have a lone-star showdown! I will post photos once things get started.
Does anyone know of great outdoor paint? We need it to do good in sun and tons and tons of rain.
Out of all the people I know Amber is the most kind person ever. She helps others in need before herself. She helps as many dogs as possible. She deserves a few days off! Her daughter told her she didn't care about Christmas gifts last year, all she wanted was for the dogs to get things. She is raising her right. Not a single selfish bone in their bodies.
Everyone should go do something nice. Even if it is buying the person's groceries or food. One kind act, even if small, can turn someones day even life around. Do it once a week, once a month, or anytime you wish. Maybe that one act of kindness will have that person paying it forward!
