It's cold out there! It's the time of year when I seriously ask myself why I live here. I should be in Florida. For now, I'll settle for plotting my hot-weather retirement.

My "Quest to Thin" is going slo-o-o-o-o-owly. Funny, I remember learning this lesson before and must have conveniently forgotten it. To lose weight, I can't max out on calories every day and only work out 3 days a week. I'm going to aim for the low end of my Spark calorie range this week and get back to working out 6 days a week.

Last week I actually did really well eating... until yesterday. My son requested cheesecake for his birthday cake, and after spending 4 hours in the kitchen making that and a wonderful homemade potato soup, I just wanted a taste of that cheesecake. I thought sure I could have one forkful. Somehow that turned into a small slice. Hm. Somehow. Yeah, I wanted it. I sliced it, put it on a place, and ate the whole slice. I think honestly I was getting frustrated with lack of results from my good efforts, so I thought "What the heck - eat it!" Anyhoo, one small slice of cheesecake won't do me in.

Working out didn't work out according to plans last week. It was a particularly busy week, so I moved my Wednesday and Friday runs to Friday and Saturday instead. And then I threw my neck out, and my lower back is all out of whack too. So I skipped both the Friday and Saturday runs. Sheesh. Lesson learned. I was feeling so much better when I went in for routine chiropractic adjustments and massages. Plus I suppose I've been working longer hours slouched in front of my computer. That doesn't help. I have to work on my posture AND get back to the chiro and massage.

So. That's what's going on with me. My fitness in a nutshell.

I know what you mean about the cold weather - brrrrr. The older I get the more I long for the warmer temps of the south.

Hope your neck and back feel better soon. Thanks for the reminder about good posture - I forget all too often when I am at the computer.

Have a great week!

I was in exactly the same place. For like the millionth time I have realised that when I sit on my bum and eat a lot, the scale doesn't move. Who knew! Let's get back to it.

Yep, I do not like cold at all anymore. no thank you! My blood is so thin now that I have lived in central Mexico 8 years. I hate being cold. I love being retired where it is warm.
Hopefully someday you too can live where it is warm.
Here's to having a great week!

Yesterday morning, I woke to 45 degrees. I did a 10K and it was just hitting 50 around starting time. Since I permanently moved to the beautiful Gulf coast of the Tampa Bay area, my internal thermometer has changed....I was freezing yesterday!

BUT, I still wouldn't trade my location with anyone...and I've traveled all over the world most of my life! AND, there's always room on the beach for others!

Enjoy your day!
