2 challenges for February

Sunday, February 03, 2013

1. Forward Bend with straight legs. Yesterday was my yoga class. The teacher explained that each month they focus on a pose. This month's focuses on the hamstrings. Mine are so tight! Too many box jumps??? Can't wait to see the progress I will make. We practiced this move standing up, sitting down and on our shoulders. Yeah the shoulder move was a little too much for me. Maybe in a few weeks. Also standing on one leg with the other pointed in the air, not sure of the name, was almost unbearable. My legs were shaking and I could not wait to put my leg down. A NEW CHALLENGE!

2. Rope Climb. Yes, the time has come at SWEAT where we are now climbing ropes. We are expected to climb them. Before it was ok to lie on the floor and pull ourselves up as many times as possible...great ab workout, but not good enough anymore. We were told yesterday that if we could not climb to jump and hold on as long as possible. Could be why my arms are so sore today, or it could be from all the yoga:) I already started looking at some Youtube clips to see just how to get my feet right on the rope. We shall see what happens:)

53.99 miles for the year:)

Climbing ropes!!! That is a challenge!!! Never done that!

LoVe the forward bend!

It feels so good to loose it up! I see a huge difference in how I can do the poses depending on the time of the day (morning - I am really stiff ; after a run I don;t have much endurance or strength but I like to stretch ; evening will depend on how tired I am from the day but I like it because it is my "Me" time!...)

Enjoy your new challenges... and emoticon on your distance tracking - you are doing emoticon ...

emoticon Namaste!

I like things that challenge us in any way to try something new or something we have not done since we were kids. I am sure you will get better as the month goes on and next month when a new challenge comes along you will step up and meet it with even more confidence than today

Oh my...oh my...oh my. I'll say have fun, but the rope climbing equates to heights to me which further translates to sweaty palms. I went rapelling once - it took me a solid 15 minutes to persuade my body to begin it's journey downward although once I was dangling in midair I actually was fine following the rules to get myself down - go figure. Good journeying.
