guilt trip on SP

Do you ever get an awesome award from spark people and realize you totally dont deserve it? For instance, I just got an award for consistency... 14 days ago I would have been like " HE** YA! I worked my butt off for this!" but right now... that is totally not the case.

2 weeks ago I was doing AMAZING, I was on track, losing weight and LOVING the gym. I was totally into my new healthy amazing life style... and then my parents happened. Its always the parents isn't it? They were going on vacation and wanted me to watch their dog. Normally this is fine, I love the dog, he has Addison's disease so he is more high maintenance than most dogs, but hes worth the trouble... usually. This time he had just had dental surgery and he was a hot MESS. I spent the entire two weeks freaking out because I kept having to take him to the vet and he was more and more work. I stopped going to the gym and I started slowly slinking into my old bad food habits.

So you can imagine as I long onto SP for the first time in two weeks and I get a consistency award It stings just a little. I knowI could have done so much better, but I let life get in my way. So, as of monday I am back on track... Id say today (sunday), but its 3am and I cant sleep and there is half a pie in my fridge so lets be honest here people.... Monday it is.

My DBF did go to the grocery store today and stocked us up on lots of yummy healthy food. I am very grateful for his help and support. As a grad student I dont have a lot of time for anything and having that dog definitely put me behind my studies. Hence the being up at 2:30am and blogging ( HW procrastination at its best!). I do plan on working out at some point monday and definitely on tuesday. I think the hardest thing about getting back on track is that first step. Once the first step is taken every other one gets a little less hard to take... but that first one... thats a doozey.

I know I can do it and I definitely dont want to owe Martin ( dbf) any more dinners from our on going healthy challenge! next month is mine! ( I hope!!)
