Ground Hog Day

Saturday, February 02, 2013

Well, little Phil did not see his shadow so we should be in for
an early spring. I can handle that. The day started out with
flurries, off and on, enough to need to sweep this sidewalk.
With my household chores in full swing, I saved it for later.
Well, later we had light rain and it turned to ice. Now the
snow left of the sidewalk is crunchy and not nearly as slick
as expected. So I guess leaving the snow means I can avoid
slipping. Tomorrow will be a warmer day with sunshine
so I think most of it will melt and disappear.
I baked cinnamon rolls and long johns. DH and I had to
milk the nanny so we used the fresh milk to make
pudding too. Salmon and brown rice for supper. The
dishes and laundry are done and I am off to bed.
Hope everyone had a delightful day. HUGS!

I am sure hoping that we see an early Spring. I don't like this cold weather that we have been having. Although yesterday was fairly nice. They say it got into the 50's but I am not sure. Today it looked nice, that is until you got outside. The wind made it feel so much colder. In the meantime, I am going to try and keep warm.

Sounds like you had a peaceful and productive and healthy day! emoticon

Early morning sun turned to coldish rain here (not freezing though, like they had about 150 miles north of here), but I didn't go outside myself, all day, so I don't know if I would have seen my shadow! A peaceful quiet day inside at this hectic time of the year is a treasure. Knitted, exercised, made a pot of chili in the crock pot, caught up with friends...all in all, a day to be repeated as often as possible!

Hope your Sunday goes splendidly!

It was cloudy in the morning, here, too... so "Unadilla Bill" (our local groundhog celeb) didn't see his shadow either.

Have a great Sunday!

Not sure if our groundhog saw his shadow, but it would be nice if we got an early Spring. I am sick of this deep freeze.

I was sorry to hear the Ground Hog in Pa. did not see his shadow, because here in Colorado we need more snow and moisture this winter to avoid more fires this summer. Much as I like warmer weather, I also like cooler summers and no fires!
