January - 5 pounds

Saturday, February 02, 2013

Well I lost 5 pounds during January...I was hoping for an 8 but the way I see it is if I lose 5 pounds each month this year that's 60 pounds gone by 2014 which would be awesome! I used to get upset thinking about how long it could take me to lose all this weight but now I just don't care. As long as I'm losing why does it matter. My husband is shocked that I am drinking so much water everyday. I fill up my gallon container and I have it marked so that I know what time of day I need to be at. Honestly I never though I would every be able to drink that much but at night time I still find myself reaching for even more water...it's like I am craving it. I'm getting lemons tomorrow cause with lunch and dinner I would like a little flavor. The funny thing is my daughters are starting to want to drink out of my water jug and I have had a hard time getting them to drink water that isn't mixed with juice so I am going tomorrow to go get them each a little one and at the end of the day we are going to make a big deal out of how much water they drink with a sticker chart. So many times I have said it is hard to workout and be healthy because I am a mom! I think now now I'm seeing that I was just looking for an excuse. I can center everything I do with them around health. Like today we talked about the letter A and I pulled out an apple. We talked about the color and why it is so good for us body's. my girls loved it. When we were outside.....we played baseball and I let them jump on there trampoline in center of the yard while I walked around the edge. There is just so much I can do with them. I am really excited about tomorrow. I have been saving plastic jugs for a while now. So tonight I filled them 1/2 with water and put different drops of food coloring in them. I also took a marker and wrote numbers on them. The plan is that I am going to put them in different places in our yard. We draw a card out of a hat and it will say find # 2 or find the blue jug. They carry it back to the table and get to decorate it with stickers. I don't know what the prize will be in the future...lol but I think it will be fun. My girls love stickers and picked up a big roll tonight for only a dollar. I love out our dollar tree it's my craft store lol well I'm done rambling and need to gets lots of sleep so gn

congrats on your 5 pound loss! I think you have a very healthy mindset- 60 lbs gone in a year is awesome!

I try to drink 3 liters of water a day, and my trainer just recommended aiming for 3.5 or even 4! My friend bought me a really nice Camelbak water bottle that holds a liter for Christmas and I love it. I tend to use sugar-free drink mixes (Crystal Lite, or the 4C brand) to flavor my water because plain water does get boring and the water at work tastes kind of bad, so I need something to mask the taste since I drink most of my water there! I also did pick up some lemon juice and sometimes use that in my first liter of the day.

It's great you're getting your kids involved! I need to do the same but it's too cold out for outside activities for us. My 4 y.o. loves helping in the kitchen... I guess I should embrace it, lol.

I'm struggling with drinking more water so I wanted you to know that your blog post has really inspired me. I like the idea of marking the bottle so I know where I should be at certain times of the day.

If I get 40 ounces of water in per day that's good for me--but then I'm running to the bathroom every half hour. I know that it's supposed to flush out my system , but sheesh!

If drinking that much water has helped you lose five pounds last month, then I'm in! I'd be beyond thrilled to lose 5 pounds in a month!
